LINX Thermal Transfer Overprinting (TTO) utilizes ribbons to print onto various substrates using a heated print head.  These ribbons are typically made of thin polyester film coated with ink, which melts and transfers to the substrate under heat.  The main types of TTO ribbons are wax, wax/resin, and resin, each offering different levels of print quality, durability, and resistance to elements

Ribbon types:

Wax: Offers good print quality and affordability but may not be durable enough for harsh environments.

Wax/Resin: Provides a balance between print quality, durability, and resistance to smudging and chemicals. 

Resin: Offers the highest durability and resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, making it suitable for demanding applications.
