Thermal Transfer Overprint (TTO) is a high-precision printing technology widely used in product packaging and labeling industries. It enables the direct printing of variable information—such as expiration dates, batch numbers, barcodes, or logos—onto flexible packaging materials like films, labels, or pouches. How TTO Works

The TTO process relies on a thermal print head and a specialized ink ribbon. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

2. Heat Activation: The print head, equipped with tiny heating elements, selectively heats specific areas of the ribbon. This melts the ink layer on the ribbon.  

3. Ink Transfer: The molten ink adheres to the substrate (e.g., plastic film) as the ribbon and material pass under the print head. The result is a crisp, permanent image.  

4. Cooling and Fixation: The ink cools rapidly, bonding securely to the substrate without smudging.
