When printing the production date, should I choose carbon ribbon or coding ribbon?

Production date, expiration date and number are common things in our life. But you don't know how it is printed on the package, do you? As a manufacturer, what is the code printed on your product package? Is the ink wheel、coding ribbon、 tto ribbon or carbon ribbon? Today we will focus on the difference between coding ribbon and carbon ribbon.

 Difference between coding ribbon and carbon ribbon

Carbon ribbon is a special consumable for bar code machine. It is covered with a layer of carbon powder. When printing, the thermal carbon powder of the printing head is transferred to the self-adhesive label. This process is called thermal transfer printing. Generally, the coding ribbon is a common consumable for general printers, that is, needle printers. Carbon ribbon is used for barcode printer.

Barcode carbon tape is a new type of barcode printing consumables, which is coated with ink on one side of polyester film and lubricant to prevent the wear of print head on the other side. It mainly uses thermal transfer technology to match the barcode printer. Through the heat and pressure of the print head of the barcode printer, the carbon ribbon  is used to transfer the corresponding text and barcode information to the label. It has been widely used in packaging, logistics, manufacturing, commerce, clothing, bills and books.
